The river is rising by busylady

The river is rising

We often get floods along the River Great Ouse in St. Neots. The river has steadily risen during the day, meaning that some surrounding roads have closed and the traffic though St. Neots has been very heavy. If you look closely you can see that the bin in the second picture is almost completely covered. I don't think any houses have been affected, but St. Neots did feature on the local news tonight.
That's some serious flooding. There has been plenty near us too and our favourite pub that we visit with friends for a meal every week is under water again for the 4th time in as many weeks. They are now closed for the foreseeable future until a proper resolution can be found. St Neots is obviously suffering as well. Stay safe and hope the levels go down quickly

I live on a hill so I don't get surrounded by water but it does flow like a river down the road and the cells around here can get flooded. I have a dry basement system. Hope you all keep dry houses.

Wow, some parts of the UK are getting hit badly by flooding again. For once, we're escaping it. Not that it's been dry here. At all!

Hope that starts to come down soon, we've got some drier days forecast down here.

We went to St Neots yesterday and I couldn't believe how flooded everywhere was. It looks as though the Bridge Pub is under water too!

I've been there in the past when it's been flooded. We have flooding here, too. Two caravan parks were evacuated on Thursday, and I believe the river level is still high there

That is a lot of water Judith. These photos really do show how bad the flooding is.

That is quite an increase in the flood height. Flood levels here in York are now going down after they peaked three days ago.
