I read. I read tutorials on how to take a shot. The problem with that is that I have a mind like a steel sieve. I also don't take direction well, even when I am trying to give it to myself.
So I read something about this the other day and while I wait for the new laptop to figure out where it is and what time zone it now lives in I was playing with some black, stretchy cloth (old jacket) This isn't what I expected or tried to do but I like it. So I am sticking it in on a day I need to fill in my extra album.
I think it's just lovely, Cathy! I love the deep red tones and the shadows between the petals. You also have a little zoning going on, too! Well done, whether this is what you wanted or not!
@marlboromaam Maggie this is what I love about being here. What is zoning? Point me in the right direction and I really will read about it.
Planned it all along - if it is a good thing.
@cdonohoue Zoning is really a technique developed by Ansel Adams. To put it simply... it's where part of the subject disappears into the background and it's done on purpose for effect. I will start my zoning series again soon because it is the hardest for me to master.
@marlboromaam Oh thank you Maggie. I did mean for it to disappear. I was zoning without knowing it. Please make sure that you have my undivided attention when you start the series. You are the best, Thanks for always taking the time to answer my questions.
