Maggie

Bored Mom, sleepy and bored dog......
I am working, unsuccessfully, on learning to use a speedlight. Should have asked the guy more questions when I bought it - a trip to the camera store is in order. But that can be dangerous.
So for now, I'll keep playing with it. I have to take some super pictures of Maggie to submit to the Addison's Dog Calendar. It is our largest fund raiser of the year. This is an over 5000 member online support group for folks whose dogs have Addison's Disease. Fairly rare, expensive to diagnose (we support dogs whose owners are having a rough financial ride) and easily treatable once you know what you are dealing with.
So I need a great shot. But she hates having her picture taken, she is gorgeous but short and I don't want just the top of her head. It will be an outdoor shot I'm sure but suggestions are welcome!
Oh, and she needs a good groom before a real photo shoot. I am also the groomer extraordinaire since the advent of Addison's. She gets too nervous for the real thing. I ought to shoot the grooming night - it is a riot.

Has she got Addisons? Sounds as if it can be controlled. She doesn't really look like a corgi here! Sweet pup!

Great cause & your dog is a beautiful if reluctant model! She has a remarkable red tongue which shows up so well as a splash of colour!

Maggie looks like a real sweetheart! Did I see correctly, her right eye is brown and the left one blue? That is a funny, cute detail that is eye-catching. I would suggest an outdoor shoot in a pretty location, taken from her level and showing the face with both eyes :-).

@marlboromaam Thanks Maggie. She is a looker.
@photos222 What sort of details do you want Sybil. Addison's is rare and deadly if not caught in time. We ended up at the ER on my 60th birthday because I knew she was dying - and she was. We were one of the lucky ones though because we handed over the credit card and told them to save her. 24 hours and $2000 later she was home and diagnosed. I work hard so that others will have an easier time through the beginning of Addison's and more affordable treatment options. I do all of my own injections and buy her "liquid gold" mail order to keep costs down.
@calm She is a blue merle. They call them parti colored. I always say there is a party going on in her head.
@jillmstruss Thanks Jill. She knows it.
@janets Miss Maggie thanks you.
@karenann Thanks Karen. I appreciate it.
@maggiemae She does. It is easily treatable once you are aware what it is. It is rare so the vet often does not identify it until it is too late. We were lucky. Treated her for all sorts of maladies for several years as it waxes and wanes and is known as the great pretender.
@lyno She is Lyn. I loved her before she was born. I was on the waiting list with her breeder.
@sugarmuser Thanks Sharon. Wish I could really get a good one.
@dauber Thanks, She doesn't really have a bad side.
@vickisfotos Thanks Vicki. She had her own photo shoot.
@girlie Thank you Robin - she is.
@pawar_ramesh Thanks Ramesh. I appreciate it.
@sangwann Thanks Dione. She is something else.
@happypat Thanks Pat. Her ears stand erect but she hates the camera and it is a fight to get a decent shot as she flattens them. Hence, the crops.
@hannak We do plan on outdoors and natural light. She has one brown eye and one 3/4 blue if you look close.
@tishpics Thanks Patricia.
