I'm a little discouraged today. This is the third Wednesday of the month - Evening Baby Bear. The weather is definitely changing in Cincinnati. It was downright nippy last night. So the Fall line has to make it's appearance. It is a big job. I have bins and bins of winter clothing that needs to be switched out with the summer clothes that are on the racks and shelves. Last night Tom and I went to CVS for toiletries - they raised their prices to $1.25 a bottle. We buy shampoo, calming bath, lotion, powder, vaseline and oil. Then we hit Kroger's for cartons of diapers and I love their $.99 wipes. I have a car full of stuff that I have to get up three flights of stairs. I still can't lift anything (I should be released by my surgeon next week) and don't usually anyway because of my back. I don't know who will show tonight to help. I've already had a few I was counting on say that they have conflicts. I get it. We are all getting older and this isn't easy. My young folks have little ones of their own to care for at the end of their days. What started as a small mission has ended up being a really large one. But changeovers are really tough.
Maybe I'll be surprised tonight and many will show to help. I hope that is the case. We'll see......
Well, I do like these funky slippers. It's hard when we can't do what we want/need/used to do isn't it.... I hate to ask for help, I do hope things improve for you Cathy...
You need to solicity some help from the young folks you have been helping, Cathy! It is okay to say, look, we will help, but you need to help us help you.
Oh I'm sorry to hear of your woes, but isn't it nice to lose yourself in your passion even if it is only for a brief moment. It's important to make time for you! Are they Dorothy the Dinosaur slippers???
