Spring Grove is 733 acres of monuments, trees and lakes. It is second largest in the States and was founded in 1844. In those early days they favored huge monuments and obelisks. Weathered now, they are still gorgeous. I always am on the lookout for the angels - which are surprisingly few. While I was working (church secretary) lots of folks would bring me an angel as a little gift and I had them all over the office. Now, they are in the china cabinet and will probably make an appearance here over the Winter.
This very stark, chained to an anchor, angel really struck me today. I may have to visit her through the seasons.
