Decided to top off my Weeks of Color theme with a royal water crown. The purple color was just right, but it was unexpectant to capture that small rainbow ray! So all in all this photo wraps up the theme quite nicely! ◠‿◠
Thanks much for all the awesome support throughout the colorful weeks! It was fun sharing these colors with ya'll! I've done a 'rainbow calendar' like this last year ( http://365project.org/cjphoto/365/2014-05 ) but it was cool to change it up and see the rainbow from a different angle. If you have the time please check out this month's calendar view: http://365project.org/cjphoto/365/2015-03
Continue to have fun capturing all those colors out there fellow photographers! ◕‿◕
@alinz - Thanks Ali! I use a macro adaptor to get close but it's not absolutely necessary. I tie a small plastic bag full of water above my bowl of water. Then I use a toothpick and pierce a tiny hole so that a drop of water can fall consistently in the same spot. Then I stick a pen where the water falls and set my focus on that pen because the dropping water is too difficult to focus on. After everything is set, I keep shooting away. Capturing a water crown is a game of chance so you may have to shoot MANY photos before you get it. You may also capture other cool water drop shots. Some of the principals I use for these kinds of shots can be found in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch/?v=fwExpFDUC9Y There's all sorts of tutorials online. Hope I helped! :D
@gigiflower - Thank you ever so much for the FAV Sam!
@neatz - Your purple board is looking fantastic Anita! Using a colored background and a clear bowl would work great for purple or any of your colored days. :)
