Here's my trusty Pentax K10D. This guy helps me get all my photos. Had him since I was 17 and we've been learning together ever since. I'll be upgrading in the future but I'll never forget the first camera that made me smile. :)
What about you? What was your first trusty camera like?
@stephanies - Thank you Stephanie! How awesome to get your first camera from your grandfather. I love the look of the Kodak Brownie 127. What a neat first camera!
cool shot.
My first 35mm SLR was a Mamiya Sekor 1000 DTL.
I had a Kodak Instamatic for quite a few years before that, and at one time I had a box camera given to me by my uncle. I think it was a Kodak as well, but not sure. I think that took 120 film.
@bill_fe - Thanks Bill and thanks for sharing your camera firsts! I think my dad had a film camera somewhat similar to the Mamiya Sekor 1000 DTL. I really like the bodies of classic film cameras! And the Kodak Instamatic, did you have one of the flash cubes? They look so neat!
@shylaine3304 - Thank you Erika and for sharing your first camera. Yes, it's far to hard to say goodbye to the first. Pulls at the heartstring almost like saying goodbye to the first child leaving home :)
@cruiser - Thank you Chris! Thanks for sharing your first camera too. This is my first time hearing of the Kodak Box Brownie. What a cool looking film camera!
@cjphoto Yes, I did have flash cubes. If I remember correctly, when the flash fired, it would automatically rotate to the next one (or maybe when the film advanced), total of four per cube. I shot mostly slide film with it.
