Adjacent to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art is an awesome display called Urban Light by Chris Burden. It consists of 202 restored street lamps from the 1920s and 1930s. Most of them once lit the streets of Southern California.
It kind of reminds us of what kids do with Lego pieces, placing all the similar looking pieces side-by-side. We definitely wanna come back here and get more photos. :)
Interesting display, it's nice that you are able to walk freely through the artwork and touch them and imagine that people nearly 100 years ago would have touched them and lit them and meet up by them, kissed under them maybe.... Thank you so much for all your kind comments, words and support Chris on my heart pics, they are very much appreciated.
@stephanies - You're welcome Stephanie!! Really loved your heart series, you did an amazing job on that monthly theme (I definitely would know haha). I agree about this display, people love to take photos and even propose here but I didn't think about what each one of these streetlights were doing 100 years ago. It's a sweet thought to think about. :)
