This statue is located inside the Spring Street Superior Court in Downtown LA. It's called Young Lincoln created by James Hansen in 1939. It's an...interesting...take on the 16th President. Some call it "Honest Abs" or "Babe-raham Lincoln." 💪🤣
Noticed you are shooting with a Pentax. Interested in lenses? I have a Pentax K100-D Super, with 18 - 55mm and 75 - 300mm. Not at all sure they would fit, but thought I would ask. :- )
@thewatersphotos - That sounds awesome, Gary. Thanks for considering me. The great thing about Pentax is their lenses usually stay compatible with other models for a long time. I also have a Pentax K10D, which came with two kit lenses that are similar sizes to the ones you mentioned. I'm wondering if they may be the same lenses. In any case, could we can discuss it more through email if possible? My email is pentax365@yahoo.com
I had to fav this for being brave enough to let the security people see your 365 passion in the x-rayed bag! The perspective is great with CJ looking so small against the statue. I'm not sure if Lincoln really looked that good because if I remember correctly most accounts of his appearance were that he was quite a comely man.
@olivetreeann - Hahaha thanks Ann!! It was an adventure to say the least. I'm so happy with the perspective. I heard the same thing about Lincoln and actually, I found out that the artist used his own body as a reference here. Haha. Personally, I just really wanna see this statue with a top hat! :P
