(Day 183) - Race to the Top

Here's one of the spots where are neighbors are growing the sunflowers that I've been photographing. The plant on the right is plumeria. As you can see, they can grow very tall too! It seems as if the sunflowers and the plumeria are in a hot race to see who will be the tallest! πŸ˜†πŸŒ»
Sunflower is prettier!!

Holy Moses! I had no idea that either plant could get that tall! My Plumeria is only about 5 feet tall. This really shows their size beautifully. It does look as if they are having a contest! Terrific shot Chris

The plumeria looks as though it is laughing at the sunflower😁

@30pics4jackiesdiamond - I agree!! The plumeria, while also pretty itself, is a wild child! lol

@dustyloup - Haha, the flowers love that California sun!!

@dutchothotmailcom - I did consider bringing out a ladder for some shots but I just stretched my arm instead and eyeball the shot. Haha

@jb030958 - Yeah the plumeria does have a scent, however the roses nearby tend to overpower it's smell when walking by. Also, behind that brick wall is where we can our complex's trash bin, which is right across our neighbor's condo. So our neighbors planted all these nice smelling flowers to help prevent the smell of the trash from seeping into their home, which I thought was really smart. They say it helps.

@taffy - Thanks so much Taffy!! It's fun trying to find different angles and stages of the sunflowers.

@grammyn - Hahaha, this plumeria will call yours a shorty. But, same here, this is one of the tallest I've seen. Some people just really know how to grow them big!
