I have been watching this large leaf for days now. It folds and unfolds. It curls up. It floats in the puddle water and it sinks into the puddle water. In this photo, the leaf is half in the puddle and half out of the puddle. The puddle had shrunk due to lack of rainfall. We are something like two inches behind normal in the amount of precipitation for this year. The puddle is certainly showing this lack of rain. Normally, the puddle would be full and would not dry up until the summer heat arrived.
