I look at the trees a lot this time of year. Yes, the bare branches are pretty, but I am actually checking out the tree buds. Most of the trees have "colorless" blossoms that few people think about. These "colorless" blossoms open up as early as mid January where I live. I am very allergic to these type of tree blossoms. Therefore, I study the tree buds a lot this time of year so I know when I should start upping all of my allergy prevention/treatment procedures. The tree buds are indeed beginning to swell. My tree bud watch is on!
