In January, I start looking at the tree branches to see if they are budding out. I do not like winter. Looking for these small signs of spring help me make it through winter.
I decided to join the 52 week project and participate as often as I can. This week's theme is "vision-look ahead". The directions say: "New year. New beginnings. New you. Look ahead. Interpret as you wish." I took this photo to show how I look ahead to spring. During the first week in January, I also look ahead to the new year. I already know some things that will happen in the new year (the branch in the foreground that is in focus). I can guess about some things that will happen this year (the branches that have soft focus). I only have an inkling about most of the things that will happen in the new year (the out of focus branches in the background). I hope that good things happen this year and that I will be able to be resilient enough to deal with the bad things that happen.
I like the way you thought things through. Like you, I look for encouragement from the tiniest signs of new life on the trees. We have snowdrops out, and daffodils have opened up in the park and this brings me cheer and helps me to look forward to lighter days. Lovely image you have used illustrating your thoughts.
