Nichols by darchibald

Nichols

These are the graves of William and Samuel Jr. Nichols and their wives. William and Samuel both served in the Civil War and died a little over a month apart; Samuel in December 1864 and William in January 1865. Both were "victims of rebel starvation." The stars near the graves are memorials for William serving in the Grand Army of the Republic.
Terrific shot of them and what interesting history

You know the old saying, you died twice... The second time is the last time someone says your name. You're keeping them alive and that is a wonderful thing. Great shot!!
