Two days ago, my neighbor's Japanese Maple swayed in the wind on a bright sunny day, and it looked like it was on fire when the undersides of the leaves caught the afternoon light. It was just stunning! Yesterday, it was my "flower" day in my self-imposed "flower and bird" theme week, but it was cloudy, so I had to take another shot, but today, the elements are cooperating, just on a "bird" day. I'm no purist--when the elements cooperate, it becomes a flower day! The fiery Maple leaves, the "gold" of the early spring leaves, and the bright blue morning sky -- Pow!
Smart decision -- this is a GREAT shot. Love the contrasting colors and the flaming bright red. Very cool! I'm waiting for one of these to bloom in a nearby park and your photo is going to inspire mine (I hope the conditions are as good -- love it!).
@taffy I hope this response comes to you--for some reason, my responses today are all messed up on 365 and this is my final attempt. Thank you very much!! This red is really true to color, which is astonishing given the photo (in my opinion) looks highly processed. I did an auto adjust on exposure, a crop, and a some help with sharpening the image. I tried to capture this tree yesterday (cloudy day). No such luck. So if you see sun and a Japanese Maple, go for it!
@hudamor@espyetta@ellie32@tara11@pflaume Thanks all! I'm sorry if I'm responding late to this one--I've had problems with IE as my browser for 365 and I thought I responded earlier. I know I should use another browser, but IE is the main one for work and other things I do. Waaah.
