Songbird Sings Farewell! by darylo

Songbird Sings Farewell!

I'm off to the mountains tomorrow with no wifi, and this afternoon, this lovely, lovely bird sang me a long song of beauty. It is a mockingbird (but I have never seen one sing this way ever), and boy did he/she love watching me as much as I enjoyed watching him/her. Usually the birds welcome me home in the Cherry tree. Today, this one sends me on my way.

MUCH needed time off for the next three days. I plan to read for pleasure, grade my final projects, eat junk food with my kids (well, at night, I'll eat gourmet because part of vacationing is COOKING!), take hikes, find rivers, lakes, and streams, and hopefully apple pick and attend an arts festival. I will be gone, gone, gone, but to my get-pushed partner, I'll see what you've assigned me when I get back!

I'm REALLY sorry I have not had time to respond to many folks these past few days. In addition to needing time off, I'm still in the throws of some cough sore throat thing and being exhausted. Thanks to all who commented on my TT photo of a silly squirrel. I posted another one I took yesterday--I predict more squirrel photos these days. See you next week around Wednesday. In the meantime, I'm off the grid. :)
Great shot!

I may be off the grid when you return, unless I get motel wifi once in awhile for 10 days. Anyway, have a great, well-deserved mini-vacation.

@rvwalker Will catch up with YOU when I get back. I am taking one rod in case we can get a fishing spot. Still remember your ice-fishing shot and it's on my bucket list! Enjoy your time off the grid too. I love when it happens, personally. :)

Actually this is a mockingbird. I am a huge lover of mockingbirds and have quite a collection + 2 "residents" for the last 12 yrs. I love the music they provide. Great shot and hope you fill better soon.

@cimes1 Thanks Carole. I kept wondering if I was going crazy, but none of the mockingbirds have ever sung this type of song before. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. We've had lots around my home and they particularly love the berries on the trees. They have been one of my favorite subjects. Thanks for setting me straight! :) Now, off to the mountains I go!

You really enjoy the natural beauty around you.
Now can you lift yourself to see some urban interest of form or style or quirkiness or intricate detail.
The interpretation entirely up to you and your eyes.

Have a great time off!

There's something about this composition, perhaps the weight of the lower right, that confirms it's a farewell song. Nicely framed.

ENJOY your time away, and tell us stories and show us pictures when you get back!

I've got JT and Carlyle singing in my head.

So cool have made the TT. Something I'd never expect for myself.

Um, autocorrect evidently doesn't know Carly Simon.
