Our son Jesse ran the 'Sand to Mud' fun run today. This is a run organised by the local Lions Club, to raise funds for a nominated cause. It begins at the West Coast (Karioitahi) and ends in Waiuku - at the southern end of the Manukau Harbour estuary (hence the 'mud' part of the title). The run is 8km and begins with a 1.5km big uphill. There is a title for the 'King of the Hill' - Jesse won this, then was placed 4th overall, with a time of 33 minutes. There were around 800 runners, so it is a great fundraiser and open to runners, or people who prefer to walk the distance.
Fab. capture, Dianne. Jesse looks very comfortable, like he could keep going all day.
