Abandoned

This was a sad sight the other day at the Alexandra Redoubt. There wasn't even a headstone. Somehow, it still had a beauty about it. It looks lovely on black.

We have come across graves in the middle of the bush on our many travels throughout NW Queensland amongst the abandoned mines and old settlements . They are rather sad places, I often wondered whether their families ever got to see the final resting place.

Sad to see it so uncared for. The ironwork is wonderful to there was great care taken early on.
