Waihi by dide

Waihi

A few years ago, we cycled the Karangahake Gorge cycleway. At that stage, it wasn't completed through to Waihi. So, tomorrow, we will finish the bit we haven't seen. It's 10km each way, so we will bike there and back. We are camped right by the old railway station in a lovely peaceful area all to ourselves. Not quite as picturesque as where @maggiemae stays, but handy for an easy start to the day tomorrow. (Oops - need to use the wrong date as I thought yesterday was the 20th…)
@maggiemae - not quite as isolated as where you are, but handy for riding the cycle trail tomorrow.

It’s a great ride, we’ve done it a few times, certainly the most picturesque part of the rail trail

@dide I thought it was already open. We were going to go to the opening day, but it poured down, or did I get the wrong month

You're fitter than I am, enjoy the ride.

@golftragic managed the ride ok but will see if I can walk tomorrow! Golf must keep you pretty fit?

Sounds like a challenge.

@dide Good work with the ride, most impressed. I use a cart to ride round the golf course thanks to my multiple leg and feet problems. Even so, there's a remarkable amount of walking involved because of the cart restrictions on our courses. If I could find the pedometer I've carefully stashed somewhere I'd measure it.
