We are staying right by the west coast at a place called Gentle Annie - Mokihinui River mouth. It is fabulous. Tonight I had to leave my dinner and rush off for this image. Luckily we were eating inside because otherwise the weka would have stolen my dinner. We are bathing in insect repellent as the sandflies here are very hungry!
Looks like a lovely spot but not so sure about the sandflies. My sister in law used to have really bad reactions to sand fly bites when they lived in New Zealand and ended up in hospital once too.
