This is a B&W thread - for B&W photography where B&W is the main mode. Selective coloring is OK, Sepia is OK, but the images in this thread should mainly be monotone.
What's your favorite B&W photo from this past week? Share with us what you took this week. Please post only one B&W photo you took. Didn't take a B&W this week? That's OK. Post a B&W from someone else's project that you really fell in love with this week.
Find the B&W you want to share and then copy and paste the code into a reply. You'll find the code below the Facebook and Twitter buttons on the right hand column of that photo.
Once again, I didn't process any B&W shots this past week until after the fact, so I'm going to highlight GiGi's shot from this past week. @gigiz
Here was my only B&W for the week, I like it a lot personally. It was really my first time trying black and white after seeing some great ones from other 365ers. Thanks to those that inspired it. I also tried a selective coloring although that one colored object takes up more than 50% of the frame so I did not choose to share it for this thread. Thanks for starting this thread @webfoot.
This was my fave for this past week, I was playing with my manual settings when I should have been working! This was pre-processed monochrome thanks to lesson from an older camera setting challenge ;) I like having the pic of the challenge itself in it!
@webfoot That's a beautiful one to highlight, Paul! I'm curious about your comment about not processing photos in B&W until after the fact- do you mean you don't consider it a B&W thread photo unless you shoot in monochrome? I haven't figured out how to shoot in monochrome on my Nikon D5100, so I always do conversions after the fact.
@rockinrobyn The after the fact comment was because I didn't post a B&W photo until later Friday afternoon, after this thread last week had already been posted.
@hjbenson I'm so flattered that you posted mine! Thank you, Harry. That was my only b&w this week, so I'll also post one by someone else. I really loved this one by Northy @northy Her b&w photos have the coolest tones and gritty feel to them...love 'em! Plus, her tags are always hysterical. :)
I've only just started given b&w photography the serious attention it deserves. There is so much to learn and understand about it, that I feel like a beginner again.. This is one that I did for my course assignment...
This is my only b&w of the week, but i love it. It was really hard to get our dog to sit still and he wanted to jump of constantly to go to my mom who was cooking :P
I'm just back after a short break on finishing my year. I still feel that I struggle with making the choice to take a raw file away from color to b&w, but I was pleased with this one for the theme-lightandshade:
This is the only b&w I did this past week, but it is my favorite anyway. I really liked the lighting and how even though it is simple it has an innocent beauty
This is my girl Sophie - she has the most incredible soulful eyes and I love how they've come out in b&w
This is mine. I wanted the snow to stand out more and found the b/w contrast helped.

Thanks to the snow I was able to take this B&W which I was really pleased with

I didn't take a b&w this week, but I did fav this one for obvious reasons!
