P&S photagraphers

June 19th, 2011
Show yourselves!! I really think in many cases it's not the camera but the photographer that makes a great photo. I know there are many great photographers with great cameras here, but I want to see what you have done with your P&S cameras!!

I do my project with a P&S, I have never even taken a picture with a DSLR in my life (hopefully someday), but I know that in doing so it has taught me a lot.. A lot of patience for sure!!

Share away!! Can't wait to see all your photos!
June 19th, 2011
These are a few of mine from my project :)

June 19th, 2011
Some point and shoots are really good especially ones that do fully manual so are very similar to SLRs in a sense. I dont think many good photos could be taken with a £20/$30 dollar point and shoot with one auto mode but a £200/$300 one good photos can be done well. You are right that its the photographer not the camera that makes a great image , but a good camera and a good photography is a good start to getting the "perfect" image. :)
June 19th, 2011
I'm sure a DSLR would be helpful at getting an even better image, there are so many things that I can't do with my P&S that I could probably so if I owned a DSLR, but I'm not so lucky to be able to afford one.. That being said, I've seen some GREAT pictures with P&S cameras, heck, some taken with iPhones that are better than some people take with their DSLRs. I'm just trying to highlight the hard work that some people put into trying to get nice photographs regardless of the camera they happen to have in their hands. :)

Well I'm really just starting out in photography and own a P&S that was over £200 pounds at the time it was bought 2 years ago. It's a great camera but sadly hasn't got a very good focus, which isn't good seeing as I like taking photos on little things :D I promised myself that if I finish this challenge (I only started yesterday) I shall buy myself a good DSLR as I have my eye on a Nikon! :D

Lovely shots @Danielle I love the flowers with the dark background.
June 19th, 2011
@lvmychunkalunka I'm following you now.

All of my photos are done with a p&s

June 19th, 2011
The beginning of my project was with P&S. I definitely love my DSLR.

June 19th, 2011
@rich57 @soxfansara @meggageg

Wow great work guys! Gorgeous!
June 19th, 2011

This above was taken with my cell phone camera,

this was taken with point and shoot. most shots on 365 I have done have been with cell and point / shoot
June 19th, 2011
@yanzyiguana Thank you very much!
June 19th, 2011
@soxfansara Thank you :) you have a new follower as well!
June 19th, 2011
@cchambers Wonderful!!
June 19th, 2011
I used my P&S during my first month on 365 but since I wanted to learn more of the settings of my DSLR, I have consistently used the latter on my 2nd month and onwards. But I still love my P&S, the two are so precious to me.

June 19th, 2011
@lvmychunkalunka Thank you and you're welcome :-)
June 19th, 2011
I do love my EOS but my Ixus is doing a great job as well, so easy to take with me every day.

June 19th, 2011
I started the project with my 3 year old Nikon Coolpix S200, and still carry it everywhere!

It's been a wonderful little camera for me, and has taken some lovely pictures :)
June 19th, 2011

most of my album is done with my Lumix 10 or Lumix 20
June 19th, 2011
I did my whole project with my P&S Canon PowerShot G7. It's an old camera but was fairly expensive at the time. Here are three of mine:

June 19th, 2011
I love the macro function on my P&S. Just adding this one to show how good it is. This tiny hoverfly is almost as small as a mosquito.
June 19th, 2011
No P&S but occasionally I get the phone out...

June 19th, 2011
Love my lil P&S. Here are some of my favourite shots

June 20th, 2011
These are amazing!! When my Nikon was being fixed, I used my daughter's P&S and seriously wanted to beat it into the ground by the end of the two weeks (it did have some focusing issues). Kudos to all of you and these fantastic photos!

@specky Thank you!!! :0)
June 20th, 2011
@specky Aww, thank you!
June 20th, 2011
At first I felt like my P&S was very limiting. But I'm changing my mind as I learn about the camera and how to use it. I'll try to upload a few of my favorites:

June 20th, 2011

One of the things that I do like about my little P&S is the ability to switch from color to b&w and sepia tone.
June 20th, 2011

Last one- I'm finally getting the hang of the macro setting as well and I love how this camera responds to color.
June 20th, 2011
Hi...
What amazing pics I have seen with this topic! Thanks for starting it! I too, only have a P&S ..I use my Nikon 630 and when it works my new Nikon S9100. I am so impressed with what I see on 365 that it challenges me to try different things either with my camera or my editting... Here are a couple from my 365 that I just love...

June 20th, 2011
I love my trusty P&S, which I only use in manual mode ( except in a quick pinch, but rarely keep the auto photos)

June 20th, 2011
the first couple of months were done with a point and shoot, and i still use it from time to time (though i use my dslr whenever possible, because i'm still learning how to use it.)

here are some of my p&s shots:

@lvmychunkalunka it's not the camera but the photographer that makes a great photo - AMEN to that!

I am a P&S shooter myself and has never shoot using DSLR, and just like you, hoping maybe someday too.

Although I love all the photos i took with my P&S, which is why the point why i uploaded them, lol. These are some of my favorite shots so far:

have to stop myself there. or else i'll be posting everything. lol.
June 20th, 2011
I debate about getting a DSLR, but I push my P & S to its limits and like the results most of the time.

June 20th, 2011
This was shot with my Canon PowerShot G9.

Another G9 shot.

And another from my beloved Canon G9 (I love this little camera).

Don't forget about camera phones. I shot this with my iPhone 4.

June 20th, 2011
@lvmychunkalunka I agree that it is the person behind the camera that makes the shot. I just do point and shoot shots as well
June 20th, 2011
I have two digi cameras, both Kodaks, a Z650 and a C-190, and I work them both to death! I used to shoot film SLR all the time until a blast of nostalgia hit me and I went back to 35mm Rangefinders, primarily the Z-I Contax.
June 20th, 2011
My P&S is beginning to show some strain so I will be upgrading to a DSLR sometime in the near future, but I have to admit, I've loved the convenience of my P&S and probably would not have got some of my better shots had I used a chunkier camera. Like this one:
June 20th, 2011
I have a P&S and a DLSR but often find the latter to heavy to carry so most of my shots are done with a P&S, which enables me to be more sneaky with people shots as well ;).

So those are a few of mine:

June 20th, 2011
I, too, hope to have a DSLR one day, but for now I have a blast with my Panasonic LX5:

I have two P&S cameras and I use both completely on auto.
This photo was taken with my Canon Powershot SX20IS

This one was taken with my Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ10

June 20th, 2011
wow! these are some amazing shots you all are posting! I use a p&s for most of my project but I was lucky enough to have a brother-in-law who trusted me with his DSLR for a couple weeks... anyway, here are some of my p&s photos.

June 20th, 2011
Up until last month when I finally got my first SLR, I did my project with my Fujifilm P&S and I loved it, I still carry it around with me all the time

June 20th, 2011
Bev
I own one camera... a Kodak Easy Share M550... I think as long as you know how to play with the settings, you can get as good a shot with a P&S then with an expensive DSLR.... Here's a few of mine.

June 20th, 2011
I tend to go between my iphone and my dslr a bit more than my canon powershot (it is getting a touch older and a bit fussier, but still love it so).
June 20th, 2011
took these with my P&S before I got my DSLR

June 20th, 2011
Until May 5th I was all P&S. I think my photography is better since I got my DSLR, but only because I'm continually learning. Until I finish learning manual modes on the DSLR, I'm pretty much treating the poor thing like a P&S. This is one of the last photos I took with the P&S

June 20th, 2011
June 20th, 2011
Terrific photos, everyone!!! I, too, have done my project only with P&S and for the most part, I'm happy with the images I can get. The one advantage I see with the DSLR is better dof/lower f-stop.
This is a photo from over the winter at 18x zoom with my Panasonic DMC-FZ28:

And this is a recent shot with my little Canon Powershot SD1100:

Great discussion topic!

I use P&S only as well. Here are a few of my favorites:

June 20th, 2011
Amazing photographs! Love that they are all with P&S cameras. That is what I have. I have only been using my camera phone for my 365project and I am pretty impressed with some of my shots. :) Bravo peeps!!!
June 20th, 2011
@lvmychunkalunka While I upgraded my camera a few years ago, (or should I say Santa did) I still carry my P&S around in my purse, or on my motorcycle at all times. I have always believed it's the photographer's eye not the camera they carry. Anytime someone says, "I need a better camera" I always respond with...No! Really....you don't! Great job on all these photos! They are gorgeous and wish I could take shots like this!
June 20th, 2011
I use my waterproof pentax optio p&s often this time of year:

Ive been using a PS for a week & half since my DSLR broke. Ive learned a lot with it.

June 21st, 2011
Oh and another Fav p&s shot.
June 21st, 2011
Everything on my project is P&S - an old Sony Cybershot. I'm pushing to the limits of what I can do using it, and want to upgrade, but a DSLR is not an option.

June 21st, 2011
I love my P&S.. It's not fancy but it makes me happy :)

June 21st, 2011
June 21st, 2011
My shots are taken either on my P&S or my iphone, here is a selection. One day I'll get a DSLR ;-)

June 21st, 2011
I have a handfull of shots from my P&S. I started this project to kind of force myself to learn my big camera...but the little guy's macro is so awesome, I had a hard time keeping hands off :)

June 21st, 2011
this was with my p&s
June 21st, 2011
I only use a P&S as well!
Here are couple of my favourites:

June 21st, 2011
I used my P& S Canon Powershot SD940 IS, set on the macro (flower) setting for this photo of flowers I saw in the grocery store. Then I cropped the photo in Picnik, then added the frame and my watermark in Picnik.

Wow! What a response! I can't possibly tag all of you but I am loving looking at all of your shots!! Amazing!! Thank you all for proving my point!!
June 22nd, 2011
I'm really enjoying these shots. I use a Fuji Finepix 1800 p&s. It's my fourth digital p&s camera and right now I'm drooling over a newer Finepix. I love using my p&s cameras.
June 22nd, 2011
I still love my p & s! Just a couple shots.

June 22nd, 2011

June 22nd, 2011
@lvmychunkalunka I agree with you about the eye and perspective of the photographer being more important then the camera! and look at all these great examples!
June 22nd, 2011
what a great idea for a post - thanks!
all my photos are with my p&s

June 22nd, 2011
I have done my entire project with a P&S as well
it's so frustrating sometimes trying to find a way to have control over the settings... I've figured out some tricks to automatic focus and stuff

June 22nd, 2011
I have started with a P&s and still use it very often. It is a very good camera though . This pictures from two days ago was taken by it for example in almost dark conditions.

and this one also, from yesterday

June 22nd, 2011
I have a casio exilim........

June 22nd, 2011
Just love my Canon Powershot G12 - still small enough to carry in a pocket/or bag but big enough that it has unbelievable capabilities and settings:

Perfect for portraits

Great for scenery

Plus it has its own little mighty macro!!!
