After a few months off, I decided to invent a new challenge again, now that flash-of-red Feb is nearly over.
I decided that it would be fun to learn a little about other 365ers through their pics for the month, so this challenge is all about you!
As usual, interpret the words any which way you like, swap words around or make up totally new ones if they don't work for you. Join in for a day, a week or the whole month... Your project, your rules :)

Sorry, my excitement is getting the better of me! haha Do I know you? Because I think you made this challenge just for me! :P I am doing my project in 100% self portraits, which makes some of the themed competitions and such a bit difficult, but this one is going to work perfectly!
I really like this challenge :) I've been searching for a March theme and I've also been meaning to practice more with self portraits. I'm excited to start. Thanks Alia, I can't wait till March!
What a great choice of creative suggestions. Probably won't do them all but it is great to have something to turn to when you hit the wall and feel uninspired.
Glad you've decided to put one together again- and a nice change-up from the ones we've been doing too. I will definitely join in- challenge buddies always stick together! I think many are sighing with relief that the black and white shots are almost done- lol. But I'm glad I did them. I'll have to start thinking for a few of these- oh, and exercise, haven't been doing that as much- guess this will get me back on track!
I was getting burned out on challenges and had decided to not even look at what was in the offering for March. BUT . . . OK, I think this allows a lot of freedom and will shave the added benefit of learning about the others who participate, and the other people are a big reason I love 365.
I've already made a list of possibilities for each day. With the exception of the ones like "something you noticed today" no way for me to know that just yet :P
How does it usually work? Do you just tag your photo or share it in the thread?
of course! this is a go for me. will have to start thinking of the possibilities for each day. very clever, alia. i will tag the other some friends who might be interested.
@summerfield i thought about it... but i don't seem to do well with these sorts of daily word challenges... they don't seem to pique the interest of my muse ;p
@summerfield@alia_801 this does sound like a great challenge but March is a rather busy month for me and I'm not sure how much Internet access I will have so unfortunately I will not be able to partake.
@summerfield I have never done the daily words before because I like more freedom. But because Alia said join in for a day, a week or a month I may do some days. Either way thank you Vickie my friend for letting me know about it! :)
@breigh Yay! I'm excited that you're excited! :) I usually just tag my pics, but people often post ones they like in the thread as they go too :)
@attraversi I love when things come along at the right time :)
@trailertrash@pachelbel@andycivil@wind_of_the_southern_sea I always find challenges are a great way to try new things and provide motivation on boring days, and because it's for the challenge it doesn't matter if the pic doesn't quite work out either :)
@olivetreeann Thanks! It took a while for the creative bug to bite again but the time was right and there weren't many other challenges about :)
@pandorasecho Me too! I did have a challenge-free month in Jan, but it's funny how fast you miss doing the same thing as your 365 friends! I love learning about everyone from their pics too :)
@lellie I fancied a change of pace too - sometimes more open challenges are a chance to flex different creative muscles :)
@northy@salza Challenges aren't for everyone (there have been plenty I've looked at and decided against too). Thanks for replying!
Sally - Fingers crossed that March is not too busy for you - I think my March might be going the same way, though hopefully internet won't be a problem for me!
@breigh You can post in your project and tag it, or you can do both- post in your project and post on the discussion thread. For those who post in the thread it gives them an opportunity to put the photo out where more than their followers can see it. So it's up to you. Have fun!
What a great approach. A self-portrait that is possible without a self-portrait.
You and Ann ( @olivetreeann ) started me on these monthly challenges with the Same September challenge. Since then, I have done these or the word challenge (Thank you Bulldog @gphelps5). The words inspire, and more than that the tag albums inspire with all the the different interpretations of the daily prompt. I have learned so much!
So, I wanted to thank all of you who work so hard every month putting these together!
@nadaa Awwww thanks! I just make up the challenges that I want to do - I'm lucky that other people (including my amazing challenge buddy @olivetreeann) like to join in :)
Great Idea! Life is slowing down for me now that my kids aren't into too much stuff at the time. I'll play! Even if I need to take a bunch of the pictures in a few days! Sounds like a good way to learn more about ME! Since sometimes it should be all about me! haha Don't tell my kids though... they don't understand what Mom Time means!
I like the idea of this!! I will give it a go too. It's going to be a busy month for me so the incentive of what to look for each day could be a lot of help. Thanks for taking the time to do this :)
@roddy go to your photo and then at the right theres a share option, see there's a box with the share link, left beside (copy and paste code),just copy the link from the box and paste here in comment, hope that helps :)
@alia_801 Just wanted to say "thanks!" for posting this challenge! I've been in a "slump" for photographic material the past couple weeks (it's gross and gray and ugly here this time of year), and this is really helping keep me on track! :D
Me-March #6 Something I like to snuggle
I wish I could snuggle my daughter (now 25 years old) but she's working in Milan now and just miss our cuddles.
So, here's a soft, curly substitute, my friend Angela's pet.
Me March No. 6 - Something I like to snuggle..... well son number two is the one who likes to snuggle up to him. He's HUGE - won at a Christmas raffle last year - lucky us!!
Sorry for the mass reply! Just wanted to say thanks for sharing your pics each day and for joining the challenge! I have very little time for commenting at the moment (stupid work being busy!) but I check out the thread each day to learn a bit more about everyone and see what ideas everyone had for each theme :) I hope you're still having fun!
@alia_801 And a BIG thank you to you too. I'm fairly new to 365 and this challenge has provided the focus (no pun intended - ha, ha) that I needed. I have learnt so much about my camera these past 6 days.
Well, I had to do a bit of a twist on this one as I am not working at the moment. I do, however, WORK OUT! So I went with that, this is what I like to do while working out... watching TV on the great machines at my gym!
Something I like to do at work...... eat!!
Got into work this morning to find my desk had been moved into the factory (office being painted), hence all the cables in the background - the engineers really think I'm COMPLETELY bonkers taking pics of my lunchbox - REALLY!!
Something I like to do at home - reading! When I was in London all my books were neat and tidy but since I moved they are all over the place and it's hard to find anything!
11: Somewhere I like to dream about...
I dream about home. I am an expat living in the Netherlands. I moved here in 1999 from Canada... where I grew up on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. Cape Breton, as the songs say, is the home of my heart.
Me-March #8 Something I like to eat..... chocolates
Very busy weekend so trying to catch up a bit. This sweet treats were given to mums at a sensory service aimed at children with additional needs.
Me-March #9 Something I like to do at home.... create
These fellows were created for the sensory service I ran at the weekend for children with additional needs.
Somewhere I like to dream about..... Africa. I was born in Zimbabwe and moved to South Africa in my late teens. Now living in a very cold, snowy England... how I yearn for some warmth, sunshine and big African sky. This pic is a filler... just hectic at the moment.
12. Somewhere I like to remember...
I like to remember Prague. I went there on holiday in November and fell head over heels in love with it. I wish this really was the view from my living room window!
Me March #12 .. Something I like to remember. This picture was taken on a "glamping" holiday in Norfolk - our posh tent was next to this gorgeous field of Sunflowers. It was a fantastic holiday....
15 - Somewhere I go to work.... could not make this look any better - it is what it is - a temporary office in a cold and very noisy factory. Office being renovated and should be back in it next week - woo hoo.
16. Somewhere I go to do something particular... I go to my sofa to collapse and try not to die after trying new classes at the gym (today was Body Pump.. ow... )
Somewhere I go to relax: my backyard (obviously, not doing much relaxing there currently). This is what it looks like now...in another month or two, there will be more of those chairs, they'll be around a table, and I'll be having coffee outside in the mornings, instead of inside, on the couch, under a fleece blankie like I am now. Come on, spring!
21. Something that reminds me of someone... this guitar reminds me of my father, the greatest musician I know. He gave me this guitar to learn on, I'm working on it!
#22 Something that reminds me of a place.....
Moved to the UK from South Africa in the early 90s - London was my first "port o call" - fond memories but couldn't live there now.
26. Something I haven't done before.... I've not tried to take a really up close photo of my eyes. Didn't get quite the type of photo I was looking for but that's ok, I can try again. I still like how this photo turned out.
# 26 - Something I haven't done before.... taken arty photos through grass - not a very inspiring photo - but it's bloomin cold outside - was hoping to go to beach to get photos of kite surfers but it's 2'C - so not chance of any surfers out.
@pandorasecho I've been pondering, but haven't come up with anything yet... I was thinking of a flag theme, but haven't figured it out. @olivetreeann@summerfield - any ideas for April?
Last one (and yes, I'm a day ahead). Something I choose to photograph today: the crazy confused daffodils that showed up in my garden before the show has finished melting!
#30. Something I chose to photograph - another flower I'm afraid. This flower was part of a bouquet that my husband gave me a few weeks ago - they are almost past their best
Our challenge is drawing to a close (depending where you are relative to the date line!). Thank you to everyone for sharing it with me - whether for one pic or many. I've made some new friends, seen some amazing pics and had lots of fun! Do check out the tag album (click on the me-march tag for anyone's shot) to see what people came up with - some very creative approaches were used.
@alia_801 Alia, thanks for hosting the challenge. It was fun to do it, although I did'nt complete it....it helped with motivation and it was interesting to see everybody's contribution.
31. Something sacred to me. My relationship with the sun!
Thanks so much for this challenge @alia_801 had a lot of fun with it this month! :) I managed to do EVERY SINGLE DAY! Go me! haha
Btw is this one of the challenges we vote on in the end or just a challenge for challenge's sake? Gonna go check out your April challenge now, although I may take a breather for a bit hehe Can be a bit difficult at times figuring out how to make a theme day into a selfie! They don't call it a challenge for nothing though!
Thank you @alia_801 for this challenge - I was fairly new to 365 when I spotted this challenge and I've had a lot of fun experimenting with my camera - some so, so photos and some okay photos - have been inspired by the amazing photographers. Thank you to everyone who commented on my photos
@breigh This is just a 'do it for yourself' challenge - no voting cos everyone wins by taking pics and completing as much of the challenge as they opted for :) Plus I have no idea how anyone would pic a top five from the very cool pics people took this month! :) I'm glad you had fun!
@roddy Yay! I'm glad you had fun. When I started with them, I found that challenges were a great way of giving myself 'permission' to upload 'ok' photos, rather than feeling like they all had to be perfect - comes in very handy during crazy-busy times like March was for me :) Happy 365ing in the future!
@godsloverphotography Beautiful shot to end on, and glad you enjoyed it - with wonderful sunsets like that around, the technicolor April challenge should be easy for you :)
Thanks alia_801 for putting this challenge together. I know I didn't always follow everyday, but it did help me get over the last month of winter weather! Thanks for all the wonderful comments too!
Just in case my regular challenge buddies want to join in... :)
Sorry, my excitement is getting the better of me! haha Do I know you? Because I think you made this challenge just for me! :P I am doing my project in 100% self portraits, which makes some of the themed competitions and such a bit difficult, but this one is going to work perfectly!

Something that was a gift: blue monkey USB drive. His head comes off. :)

Moved to the UK from South Africa in the early 90s - London was my first "port o call" - fond memories but couldn't live there now.
