March Words

February 27th, 2018

Hello and welcome to March’s list of words. You cannot help but notice how bright and gaudy this month’s Word page is. That is because I have tied it with Mel’s @m2016 Rainbow Challenge since I know there are many who regularly do the monthly words also plan to do the Rainbow Challenge. As a matter of fact, I have coloured the word with its corresponding colour to help you out.

Full information of the Rainbow Challenge can be found here:
https://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/31137/rainbow-challenge-2018

The words chosen for Monday, just as in the Rainbow Challenge, are red, Tuesday – orange, Wednesday – yellow, Thursday – green, Friday – blue, Saturday – purple, and Sunday – pink. (Some also go for indigo and then violet for their Saturday and Sunday shots, rather than purple and pink – the choice is yours)

Did you know that colours are often associated with emotions? So, I also included a week of emotions in their corresponding colour.

Finally, according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, if March comes in like a lion, it will go out like a lamb. ... Weather folklore sayings are as colorful as our imagination. ... So, if a month came in bad (roaring like a lion), it should go out good and calm (docile, like a lamb). Let’s see how much truth there is in this adage and record your weather on March 1st and the 31st.

This month’s words are:
1 – Your weather
2 – Textures
3 – Jelly beans
4 - Pink / violet
5 – Red
6 - Orange
7 - Yellow
8 - Green
9 - Blue
10 – Purple / indigo
11 – Cheery
12 – Anger
13 – Vigilant
14 – Happy
15 – Envy
16 – Sad
17 – Pride
18 – Worldwide minutel
19 – Flower
20 – Abstract
21 – Sunshine
22 – Shamrock
23 – Sky
24 – Dreamer
25 – Maple Syrup
26 – Metal
27 – Stretch
28 – Daffodil
29 – New growth
30 – Hot cross buns
31 – Your weather

The bonus words are March birthstones, aquamarine, which was thought to cure heart, liver, and stomach diseases and Bloodstone is sometimes considered an alternative birthstone for March since it is the zodiac stone for Aries. The March birth flowers are the daffodil and the jonquil, which actually is a particular kind of daffodil. The two zodiac signs associated with March are Pisces and Aries. One born under the Pisces sign can be recognized for their optimistic ambition and determination. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, and that's pretty much how those born under this sign see themselves: first. Aries are the leaders of the pack, first in line to get things going. Other bonus words are birthday and anniversary.

Please tag your words mar18words.

Have a great month everyone!

IMPORTANT!! PLEASE READ!!
First of all, I would like to thank you all for participating in the March words. It looks like it is going to be a great month.

Second of all, I just want to let those of you who are combining the Rainbow Challenge and the March words to know that I GOOFED!! And this will only affect those who are combining the two challenges. Those who are not can stop reading here!!

I used my agenda calendar to set up the March words and the week starts on Sunday, unlike 365s calendar which starts on Monday. This really affects the calendar the way I set it up since using my dates makes pink the last column of colour rather than the first.

But, this is really easy for you all to fix. You just have to edit the dates by one day – meaning that the first weather word that was to be posted on the 1st gets posted on the 2nd, blue texture goes to the 3rd, and purple jelly beans goes to the 4th, and so on. So sorry about this.

This will line everything up properly for you (and me) with pink at the beginning and purple at the end. The very last word (weather) can then go to the March 1st where it will be conveniently located to compare the beginning and end of March.

Again – so sorry!! Feel free to post any questions if I did not explain this clearly and you still have questions.

Have a great month!

No problem with me, Wendy. It is confusing at times to have the 365 calendar start on Monday, but we adjust, don't we? I am not good at doing the March words in order. I just mark them out as I use them and use them when I can. I appreciate all the work you have put in on this.
