Tomorrow, Monday February 4th brings us into Week 6 of the Dogwood Photography 52 Week Challenge, and the theme for this week is:
Inspiration: #NoFilter No limit on what you shoot this week, as long as the image is pure. No filters, presets or other edits. Basic exposure corrections only this week.
About the Inspiration category:
“In this wide-open category, we start with a simple inspiration. Use this inspiration as creatively as you can. There are no rules so feel free to think outside of the box.”

i find this prompt confusing... so sooc apart from exposure? no sharpening, straightening, cropping, balancing? can i mess with contrast? ok - i realize that you don't know the answer and i'm not really expecting you to... just saying that i'm confused! being asked to shoot "sooc" would be easier!!!
@northy It is confusing! I think #nofilter is just the cool kids way of sayiing 'sooc' nowadays :P He says no filters, presets or other edits, so I'd be inclined to think that includes contrast, sharpening etc., but I reckon basic cropping and straightening are fine.
I rarely used exposure compensation while shooting before but this week's prompt has me shooting in AP mode and adjusting exposure as I go, which I'm assuming is what he means.
I'm also taking it that a straight conversion to black & white is fine if you've shot in colour.
I had a peep on the Dogwood website to see if there were any further explanations or comments, but I couldn't see any...
@shutterbug49 I always find it tricky combining challenges, but in a way this week's dogwood theme is a good one to combine with the flash of red textures theme, because you can use lighting that emphasises a texture while you're shooting instead of having to rely on editing later. I've taken to using my camera's black & white mode while shooting, but I can't shoot B&W with my cellphone camera, so I'm converting the images to black & white after, and resisting the temptation to tweak anything else such as contrast or structure etc!
