Teetotaller

It had to be the tea strainer for today. I enjoyed playing around with the shadow of this simple tool. Any suggestions on how it could be improved? How do you get a totally white background?
is your background white or something of the white variety? for me, i increase the exposure of the shot but i see you did that here. perhaps increase it to 1 sec or 1.3 sec then you can fix in post. or, if you have one of those bright lamps, direct that light source directly, and the closer the light source the better, to your white background. fixing in post would be very minimal. it may not work in this shot though as your subject is very close to the background to get that beautiful shadow.

@summerfield thanks for your suggestion. It seems that I had 2 things missing here. A proper white background and lighting.

why not join the flash of red challenge https://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/44598/flash-of-red-february-is-just-around-the-corner it is not a competition per se but a study in black and white. all black and white with a touch of red in the middle (feb 14 but not necessarily on that day).
