Ideally you get the globe artichoke (aka French artichoke & green artichoke which is "qaqoċċ" in Maltese) directly from the farmer but its fresh as can be from the greengrocer through online shopping. We do not cut the flower buds like many recipes suggest but fill as much of the spaces in between with tuna, olives, capers, garlic, parsley and bread crumbs. The side dish for us would usually be boiled potatoes and cauliflower with a dollop of tomato paste, olive oil and of course fresh Maltese bread. Bit messy to eat but we love it.
I tried to use the second vegetable in the background to create direction towards the centre of the foreground. I also tried to get the golden spiral ratio here but found it difficult without cropping too much of the picture. I think the lighting could be improved as I worked with what was available after a day of online lessons with my grandchild and delivery of two catechetical lessons in the afternoon.
