At last... today I got to visit the donkey sanctuary near Sidmouth in Devon. I’ve wanted to go there for ages and it did not disappoint. It was set up in 1968 by Doctor Elisabeth Svendson and has helped and rescued literally thousands of donkeys over the years. It is so well organised and the donkeys are very well cared for with large fields and massive clean and well designed stables. There is even a field of disabled and blind donkeys all of which have their favourite sighted donkey friend who help them get around safely.

This is Henry of Haydean. He is 33 years old and has been at the sanctuary for most of his life and helps children and adults with disabilities. He is classed as a ‘good doer’ which translates as he easily puts on weight so he has been moved to a ‘Weightwatchers’ group to slim down. I feel real empathy with him!!
Precious shot. Poor Henry... I hope his weight watchers program is a success and that he can stick with it. :)

Oh, Henry -- you don't look overweight so your diet must be working! Great capture!

This sounds like a wonderful place, and what a darling Henry is. I have heard about this donkey sanctuary but never been there. There's one here in Ontario, near Guelph, which i have visited. I just love your pov in this shot of Henry and his colourful headgear.
