OK - so this is not my photo but courtesy of Colin. Today I was on a photo-shoot for British Airways and their 'Inspire Us' campaign and this is professional advertising photographer Mark Leary, my mentor for the day.
Addressing my concerns before the trip regarding the equipment I will be using - Mark had brought a Canon 5D Mk 3 (same as mine!) and a 7D body as back up. All the lenses were prime lenses (very nice) along with a set of Lee filters.
As well as Colin, myself and Mark the photographer in the team we had Chris - creative director at the advertising agency BBH, Emma Weare BBH Account Manager, Luisa the local Producer, Frederico the runner and Nick the marketing lead at B.A. Quite a difference to being on my own for the day.
We had got up at 5.15 am and finally finished shooting at 8.20 in the evening. I was shattered but at least we get a couple more days in Venice while the team have to fly home and onto the next destinations. During the day we used water taxis and even got a ride on a gondola. I really did learn some useful skills in particular with use of filters.
I know the image I'd like to be used but I won't know for a week or so what the choice will be or where they will be used.
Great shot of you doing your thing Emma. Colin, excellent dof. What a wonderful experience and chance to learn. It couldn't happen to a nicer photographer.
