A sad day as we leave my Mum in Cornwall for the 300 miles drive back to Teddington. This is my travel bear Gulliver (on the right) and he is sad to be leaving his younger brother GJ (Gulliver Junior). I have a photography page and a separate one for Gulliver's travels which avoids me sounding like I am bragging each time we go traveling!
He has now got 83 followers and receives messages from around the world. I realise he is looking rather worn now - he is nearly 10 years old. I think I need to work on improving his fur! (Gulliver's page - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Gulliver-Bear/294830193861384)
You are right, he is very sweet, but he looks as if he could use something rejuvenating. A certain bear I used to hear about when I was little, swore by honey (or "hunny" as he spelled it), but I think that would only make Gulliver rather sticky. Perhaps the secret is that as long as you love Gulliver, he will be there, even if a bit the worse for wear.
@tristansmum I couldn't put him in the washing machine so I'm thinking of wiping him with a wet sponge and a bit of hand wash liquid and then giving him a thorough brush whilst damp - what do you think? (His Facebook posts normally feature food!)
