29th June 2015

Another day of photography. This time I was very lucky to be able to get into the RHS Hampton Court Flower show on Press Day. My friend Sarah got the tickets and we enjoyed touring around the gardens together and even getting allowed in before the masses arrive over the rest of the week.

I put a press article together and by chance, most of my favorite gardens that I photographed ended up winning medals - a lot were judged by Sarah’s husband Patrick, a multi gold medal winning garden designer at both Chelsea and Hampton Court flower shows and now an RHS judge (I didn’t have any insider information though). This garden is the Normandy impressionist garden which did not actually win any prizes but I liked the way it was modeled on Monet’s painting of the Waterlilies.

My article with more photos of the gardens...

I just love this shot, the Monet quality of the garden is beautiful, and I love the way the bridge is famed by the vegetation, fav for me. I wish we had a flower show like this here. There is one, which I went to for the first time this year, but it was so disappointing that I won't be going again.
