21st December 2015

Today we travelled up to town for an urgent hospital visit to try and diagnose Colin's constant pain in his neck and shoulder. We were quite worried as we had an urgent referral by the GP which never bodes well.

However, the consultant was very nice and put our minds at rest somewhat although Colin still needs scans and further appointments to work out exactly what is going on. The hospital in Chelsea tried very hard to look jolly and had decorations everywhere but it could not hide that fact that sadly there are a number of seriously ill people there. Luckily it looks like Colin should not be one of them although he may still need an operation in the New Year.

To help us recover from the very early rise this morning (pre-dawn) and to cheer us both up we treated ourselves to coffee (or my case an Italian hot chocolate) and some rather nice tarts in Carluccio's… definitely what the Doctor ordered.

This is South Kensington tube station and is one of the few stations on the Underground that still has the original entrance signage for the 'Metropolitan and District Railways'.
Hope all is well.. Love the glimpse of the railway here..

@jporcaro Thanks Joan - I like it when I find some original signage as there is so much work going on to upgrade the system.
