I can't believe that I neglect d to get a photo today, especially as I was up at 5.15 to take Mum and Ian to terminal 3 at Heathrow. There was virtually no traffic so it only took us about 20 minutes. It was sad saying goodbye as I don't get to see her so much now she lives all the way down in Penzance, 300 miles exactly from where we live.
Th benefit of being up so early was that I managed to get my dinner party starters of potted shrimps and my desserts of creme brûlée with raspberries cooked and washed up before Colin had got up! I even managed to drive to Sandys the fish shop in Twickenham to get brown shrimps in that time. I was flagging a bit around 10.00am!
The dinner party went well later that day up until the point that as we sat chatting afterwards, one of our guests had a coughing fit which resulted in him literally chucking up everywhere! I couldn't believe it as I threw a waste paper basket at him. What was even stranger was that we all continued to chat as if nothing had happened as he sat in a pool of sick - revolting.
Eventually they left and Colin and I set to clearing up. Luckily the carpet is going to be replaced in a few months but it's not very pleasant at the moment and we do have to live with it in the near future. An interesting end to a long day.
