At last, the day of my photo club awards dinner is finally here. I have had sole responsibility for identifying the venue, pitching it to the committee and then designing and selling tickets, collecting menu choices, collecting prints, making signs, erecting the rickety print stand and creating the photo display and finally welcoming everyone to the venue in the evening.
It has been an uphill struggle to get enough guests to warrant the hiring of the entire restaurant and there has been little enthusiasm apart from the usual supporters. The evening went well, the food was good and the staff were exceptionally helpful prior to and on the evening.
