Just as we were about to go out this morning, I noticed a stunning spiders web complete with rain drop 'pearls' hanging above our recycling boxes! This put pay to me taking out the recycling as I dashed upstairs to get my Macro lens.

This is a garden spider (Araneus diadematus) and here are some more images of his/her web.

After the impromptu photo shoot we headed over to Fulwell Golf Club to meet Karen for lunch before James played a round of golf with him. The day remained dank and grey and it is now so dark I have. had to meet all the timer switches on the lights downstairs!
