The day started with Colin getting up early as we have somehow missed a parcel delivery twice now even though we are sure he never actually rang the doorbell. I headed out for a run in Bushy Park to make up for the lack of park run on Saturday and when I returned I managed to contact Parcel Force to ascertain that they would not in fact be delivering until lunchtime! Somewhat like London buses Parcelforce eventually arrived at 12:30 with not one massive box but two as it appears that Colin has been sent two of the same items!
Thank goodness it arrived as we had wanted an early start to head out uptown as I had booked tickets to the play toast by Nigel Slater a month or so ago. We ate at the new place we discovered awhile ago by Victoria station called the Market Hall. It’s a great place with a number of restaurants selling all sorts of food and in the event I went for Mexican and Colin went for Indian food and both options were really good.
Afterwards we headed for the ‘Other Palace Theatre’ for the play. We have never seen a play there before but it was absolutely excellent and the lead actor had got Nigel Slater’s mannerisms off to a T. It was a different sort of play in that we were handed various sweets and food during the play to eat at the same time as the actors on stage. I thought it was actually really good value and as it was a modern theatre the rake of the seats was much better so everybody had a good view.
