Another nice breakfast today (with face masks into the lounge). It was beautiful day again although a little chilly first thing. We had planned a days walk around the Ladybower reservoir that we had seen the other day and took supplies in our rucksacks. We used a different car park this time but had a rapid return after only twenty minutes walking when we realised that neither of us had actually got a parking ticket for the car! That certainly racked up the footsteps for the day.
It was fascinating walking around the reservoir although it seemed to get longer on the return stretch. We walked for nearly 8 miles during the day (22,167 footsteps). We continued walking to look at the Hawes reservoir where the Dam Busters practiced their training flights during the second world war. There was also a lovely statue of a border collie called Tip who was so loyal to his owner that he stayed by his side after he had died on a remote hillside for over 3 months during the harsh winter. The light was superb late in the afternoon and this is the reflections on the Hawes reservoir before we walked back to the car.
We were pretty tired by the time we got back to our room but we had to summon the energy to walk out o the excellent Coach and Horses for dinner for the second night running as the for was so nice last night. We had the same table and the food was just as good again. A good day.
