I braved going to Fat Fighters the scorning only to find that despite my good efforts I had not lost any weight… and not put on any either. Resisting the temptation to buy a bag of consolatory donuts on the way back I headed home for coffee with a single crisps-bread. We then walked into Kingston along the river and I managed well over 10,000 footsteps again which is good. I lugged in my coin collection go over £180 in £2 coins and literally pounds in weight of 5, 2 and 1 pence pieces so that I could pay them into my iPhone fund. It seemed a good idea at the time but half way along the tow path they seemed to double in weight. Thank goodness the counting machine was not out of acton as I had already promised that I would be fuming if I had to carry them all home agin.
After I had lightened my load I visited Waterstones in the Bentall Centre to properly count the cards on display. I found that the Christmas cards have been taken off display so I will have to try and find out what was left although from memory only 10-15 which is good.
We took the bus home as we had now added a tub of fat balls for the birds to our load and I did not fancy carrying that back.
The excitement of the day was that in the afternoon we checked flights to Portugal again. The original ones that we had looked at were sill over £600 - ridiculous but by changing the dates jut a little and accepting a graveyard flight that I always vowed I never would, we got the price down to under £300 which for 2 people with cases is very good, I also booked a 2-bed apartment that i had found some time ago for less than £45 a night. Hooray… with only 1.5 weeks to go we are off for 8 nights to the Algarve. It may not be boiling hot but it should be considerably warmer than here.
