Mum and Ian were due to come back today so I was rushing around somewhat, changing the bed back to their bed Lin en as I will be in the back bedroom testing out the sofa bed for the first time in about seven years!
I made a Victoria sponge cake and even precooked a Bolognese to save time later in the day.
Their flight was due in at 3.45pm so we drove over a bit earlier to do our normal trick of waiting in the Tescos car park watching the animals in the Hounslow City farm - alpacas and goats today - just about visible through the fence. We finally got the call that they had their luggage and headed over to Terminal 5. No wrong turns and we made it to the short stay car park where I had dropped them off although who knew there would be so many lifts so it took a few minutes to find them and then I lost the car but luckily I called Colin and got him to hoot the horn so I could find him! All was going well until I could not find the correct exit on the roundabout as I did not want to head to the M25 so I inadvertently headed back up to the drop off point incurring yet another £5 charge. Although I had already paid for the car park, I did not want to get fined and so I paid online late this evening - I’ll see if I can get a refund.
It sounded like Mum and Ian had a good time although the weather wasn’t perfect and they were staying in pretty busy areas in Madeira. At least they are both back safe and sound.
