We were up in good time as we finally bitten the bullet a couple of days ago and booked a plumber to come and replace the mains stop-cock which seems to have jammed and also to try and identify the source of the water hammer an hopefully to fix it.
Robbie the plumber arrived on timed quickly replaced the stop cock so we can easily turn it off if required. Unfortunately, despite being here for over three hours and replacing various parts, he simply could not resolve the water hammer,. I was getting concerned at how much it would cost and in the end suggested he give up. He was obviously frustrated that he could not find the fault but was incredibly fair in only charging us for an hour and parts which was a big relief.
We went into Kingston in the afternoon by train to deliver the cards required after my count a few days ago and also to use the ‘hot drinks and cakes for two’ voucher in John Lewis.
In the evening it was over to Kew for my photo club lecture I knew it would be good as we have had the photographer before - Margot Raggett. She has raised almost a million pounds for different animal charities by creating fantastic books of photographs taken by top photographers across the world. I bought the elephant one for Karen and asked Margot to sign it as well - another present problem solved!
