A lone Christmas tree on Teddington bridge waits for the recycling collection on Friday. The trees look so sad thrown out on the streets when only a week ago they were taking pride of place in peoples homes. This one seems hardly to have dropped a needle - must be a Nordman Fir.
Tells everything about the fate of live Christmas trees. I don't buy them anymore because I don't like a lovely living thing dying in front of my eyes. One of my favorite Christmas stories is by Hans Christian Anderson The Little Fir Tree. It tells the story from the point of view of the tree. Very poignant. If you haven' read it, I would encourage you to do so. This would make a wonderful photo to go with it.
