11th January 2013

This is Teddington footbridge and despite whatever time it says to the right, I actually took this at about 2.45pm this afternoon, only half an hour after high tide. If you look closely you will see a sign under the bridge saying 'Warning' - this sign is actually about 6-foot high and is on the edge of the river bank so as it is only a few inches above water level it gives you an idea of how flooded this area is at the moment!

This is a lovely part of the Thames footpath and the last part of the river that is tidal, separated from the non-tidal stretch by two locks and a weir. Note - blue sky and sun - hooray! However, snow is forecast and I am looking forward to getting some snowy photographs for this years Christmas cards!
I love bridge shots! Nice one!

@mike_todd - thank you - we are lucky to have a number of lovely bridges in this area and I hope to photographs some of the others over the year including Richmond bridge (liked your black and white bed shot for today!)
