This is one of many dead fir trees killed by the silica created by the hot springs here in Yellowstone, along with one of the many ravens in the park. Wherever there is a car park, you'll find the ravens hoping for scraps of food!
Raucous ravens! If its not been burnt by chemicals, its fire! Poor trees!

I hate to think of trees dying, but this one does have a beautiful shape and looks great with the raven. So well spotted and taken, has to be a fav for me.
