"I used to have a teacher. . ."

The first-grader next door posed for me on March 2, Dr. Seuss' birthday, when she was still in school. She loves to draw and sometimes brought us pictures. Today, after about a month at home, she told me sadly, "I used to have teacher who taught me art."
Dr. Seuss would probably have a good rhyme or two to place in each shoe, wouldn't he? This is a sweet capture of better times.

She's very cute- Here's a little Seuss poem to inspire to color while she's away from her teacher.

You may not be a teacher you see
But your teacher has taught an artist to be
Look to your left, look to your right
What will your pen draw on paper tonight?
You can do it; I know you can
Because art is as fun as Green Eggs and Ham!

@olivetreeann Thank you so much for the poem! I'm going to give it to her. Her mom says she's having a hard time some days and I think her art will help her get through this.

@eudora I hope she likes it- I imagine there are a lot of students missing their teachers. (And their parents too! haha) My sister and my friend are missing their students also- they prefer the interaction of a classroom over an cyber site.
