Brothers Laundry

It had been six years since I'd last photographed the Brothers Laundry mural painted by Seth in 2014, but I had driven by it more recently. Now it's gone, painted over. Possibly it had been defaced, but it still makes me sad.
Awww! That’s just wrong! Now you know why I’m so glad you have documented all of these paintings over the years

@grammyn When I saw the building, I thought, "Katy's right." Thanks for encouraging me so often!

That is sad and I know the feeling. There was a beautiful barn here where the land was bought by developers. They said they were going to incorporate it into their plans but ended up demolishing it. I'm so glad I have my photos! And I'm glad you have this too.

Richmond has a great mural presence with artists from all over the world. What several pointed out (and I had never really thought about before) is that murals are by their nature transitory.

I am glad you took photos through the years. That is such a meaningful mural, in so many ways.

To bad. But good you have previously photographed it

@allie912 When we visited Richmond in 2015, my granddaughter and I wandered around Shockoe Bottom admiring the murals. I have read that street art is transitory and the artists themselves have updated or repainted some of the ones here.

Now it's ugly and sad!

How unfortunate, it was much more interesting with the wonderful mural

Pat
Ah what a shame but how good that you took previous pictures of it.

I can't imagine what it must have felt like to be the person who painted over it.

That's a pity but great triptych.
