I didn't attend a Mardi Gras parade this year. The Spanish Town parade in Baton Rouge was delayed because of rain and I opted not to take my camera (or myself!) out during the tornado watch. This float was being decorated on Thursday for the Saturday parade.
Sunday while in the town of Plaquemine, I saw some floats returning home after their parade, but I missed the parade itself. That was fortunate--I found out later a man had been murdered while watching it. Because of that incident, the neighboring town of White Castle canceled its parade for today. So today I'm staying home cleaning out my storage room...
