Bee on Sea Holly by falcon11

Bee on Sea Holly

This bumblebee was not intimidated by my closeness; he kept right on feeding on this sea holly. If you look at this enlarged, you will see a little friend (some kind of bug or fly) to his left.

Note: This sea holly is in bloom, not budding. Here is another shot of it earlier in the season: http://365project.org/falcon11/365/2012-06-11
I had a blue/purple variety in the garden, which died out, and initially I thought this was it. It was not -- this variety has this light green colored blossom.
Nice macro!

Amazing! As always - I can hear him buzzing! My sea holly is so tiny right now - I actually thought I lost it -
