The tree roots are mostly submerged this year because the pond is so high, so there aren't many places for the painted turtles to come out and sun. Such a neat close up - I don't know that I would have noticed the crossed legs if you hadn't mentioned it - that's priceless. Your detail is wonderful. What a nice problem to have - a high pond! It's nice that he comes to pose for you without diving for cover.
