A filler shot from this weekend in Newport. Gulls are so common here along the shoreline but I still think they are quite stately looking.

I wonder what type of gull this is? It doesn't look like any of the ones here on the west coast. Nice profile!

@vskolnik I think it is a late juvenile ring-billed Gull Larus delawarensis. They are usually pretty speckled but this one has almost all of his grey feathers and just some speckles left on his head.
