Start 'em Young!!

Everett's first experience with Nana on a photo trip was a rainy, cold, and miserable one. But, he had fun and wants to do it again!
We started off taking shots of things that interested him like mounted planes and the local armoury with tanks and artillery.
We then drove around and he took shots out the car window since it was more comfortable than stepping outside.
I let him use my old Nikon D80 with the kit lens that came with it. It will be okay for him and no great loss if it gets damaged but I thought it was important for him to start with a 'real' camera as opposed to a phone.
Praying for better weather next time we go out!
He could upload his shot to the darkroom!!!??

I loved my D80, I literally wore it out. What a great camera for Everett, I love this sweet photo.

This is such a neat image of a lucky young man - to have nana’s camera. Also a lucky guy to get to hang out with you.

Absolutely right start him with a camera. I love my new phone but it doesn't beat my camera.

Good for you. It's nice for children to be allowed to experiment.

How fun! I agree. A camera is a total different experience (and better) than a phone, especially because they will have access to phones/iPads etc, but not always to a camera.
